"Leadership is a function, not a person."

All the members of a work group or family have competencies that can benefit the group. The secret is to create a group culture in which skills are openly known, shared and valued. This is an interactive process.

A good group creates outcomes that are much greater than the sum of the skills present. Trust, openness, responsiveness and interdependence combine with other communication and collegial skills to create competent Leadership in Teams.

Some groups follow a sequence of steps in their growth towards mature competent functioning. Other groups get stuck at stage one or two and are not able to achieve their intended purpose.

This workshop replicates developing group skill sets so that theory and practise can be transferred to work, family and voluntary group situations. Very useful skill training.

Change is always with us. How we respond to it, from our own attitudes and feelings, makes all the difference in the world to our health and the wellbeing of work and personal systems.

In these few days both theory and practise of Change Management will be the focus. Managers and key leaders in the workplace can actively ease the transitions and challenges experienced when necessary changes are being planned and introduced to work teams. Pro-active motivation can be created.

"When is a Change not a Change at all" is also examined. Outcome focus is needed in order to plan for creative new responses and system shifts that do have genuine change as a result. Sometimes everyone in a system is influenced or shifted about so that equilibrium or homeostasis are upset but outcomes are not materially different from before. In planning for change that will produce movement forward and new outcomes we need to be aware of this.

This workshop will provide information and planning models so that Change can be introduced in ways that team members will 'buy into' with creative initiative rather than resistance. Collegial collaboration in the process of Change will become easier to achieve. Energy for forward thinking and respect for individual resistance will be created. Understanding of the effect on others of Change that is introduced will be worked with so as to engage people's energy for positive new outcomes.

When communication and team development skills are applied in decision making settings conflict is less likely to arise. Psychodrama Role Theory provides a skill based model for both pre empting and also resolving conflict situations successfully. Very practical application.
